Chapter Mission

We, the Brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Alpha Chapter, in an effort to stimulate an appreciation for our place in domestic affairs; promote true fraternal Brotherhood among our members, create a social climate in which the membership can enrich themselves and devote its time and efforts to the service of the community; establish this Constitution for the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Zeta Alpha Chapter.

Chapter Vision

As we enter our 54th year at the University of Missouri, we the members plan to reaffirm our founding goals and set out our vision for the chapter’s evolution while reforming to ensure its effective and influential role in a rapidly changing world and campus climate.

 Vision Breakdown:

As we enter our golden years of service and brotherhood we will make every effort to achieve what we previously failed in, with no excuses. The Zeta Alpha chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has been thriving and changing for years on the campus of the University of Missouri and it is our job to ensure that it continues to develop.

There is a need to create an environment where there is no longer a carbon copy of leadership. Everyone can be a leader because we all are different. Leadership isn't and shouldn't look the same because if it does we are doomed to the same mindsets that have impeded growth amongst our peers for years. As men of Alpha it is our duty to be on the cusp of innovation and being the first to make a step towards redefining the social norms.

Additionally, we must teach and illustrate what it means to be a black professional, especially to black males. With black lives being taken away every day on the hour our future is being killed off and ultimately threatens the longevity of not solely Greek life, but traditions.

We must not be afraid to heal those who are deemed hopeless by exposing our wounds and being vulnerable to truly show that leadership especially for a black male is something more than just a public image. It is time to reclaim ourselves and our culture by defining our brand and promoting it throughout the community in order to draw them in to listen to the message, the vision of what once was and what can be with work and faith.

The chapter will work on internal uplift and being able to bridge the generation gap of members within the fraternity to further develop the brotherhood aspect to which we joined the fraternity for.  Brothers will work to foster a network that allows for current and past members to stay in contact and will ultimately help bridge the generational gap of members to understand how things in campus culture have shifted since their days on the yard.
