On May 17, 1966, the seven founding Jewels of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. were joined by seven more men of distinction: Pearl Charles Brown, Pearl Michael Middleton, Pearl Thomas Polk, Pearl Alonzo Redman, Pearl Charles Rudd, Pearl Samuel Scott and Pearl Cecil Wells. 

These seven men chartered the Zeta Alpha Chapter at the University of Missouri-Columbia, which is the 332nd Dynasty of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and in doing so they committed themselves to the progress of the African-American experience at MU. The Zeta Alpha Pearls were responsible for the establishment of the Legion of Black Collegians, MU’s Black Student Government, and the NAACP chapter at MU.

 Zeta Alpha brothers have held key positions on campus such as the LBC presidency, NPHC of MU presidency; have founded and presided over EVOLUTION: The Black Men’s Think Tank as well as involving themselves in a multitude of organizations on the University of Missouri Flagship campus. Brothers are committed to distinguishing themselves as true leaders and pillars of the MU community. Through their work, it is empirically evident that the Zeta Alpha Brothers live up to the aims of the fraternity: Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for all Mankind.
